Alex "the moose' Misar - Saxophones
Born in Portland, Alex has been playing the saxophone for over 20 years. After moving to Eugene in 2005, he studied music at the University of Oregon. Although he ultimately graduated with a degree in landscape architecture, Alex continued his musical studies throughout College, performing with the Oregon Jazz Ensemble, the University of Oregon Orchestra, and a number of smaller ensembles. In addition to working at Stangeland and Associates, Landscape Architecture and Design for the past six years, Alex has also instructed in the University’s Department of Landscape Architecture. When he is not performing with High Step Society, Alex performs with The Whiteaker Hot Club, and he has performed with a multitude of Oregon groups over the course of his musical career. In his rare moments of free time, Alex enjoys hiking, biking, gardening, and terrorizing his partner and two cats.
